New products we sell come with their manufacturer's warranty. This page shows how to use it, who to call, and where to register, all in one place. Scratch-and-dent and refurbished items follow the terms in our return policy.

Something arrived damaged or wrong?

Report damage within 48 hours of delivery. Email info@mightygenerators.com with your order number and photos of the packaging and the item. For freight deliveries, inspect the crate and note any damage on the delivery receipt before the driver leaves. Shipping damage and wrong items are handled under our return policy, not the warranty.

Return & exchange policy

Product stopped working?

Within 30 days of delivery, contact us first. Defective items can come back to us at no cost under our return policy. Gas or oil units that have been used can't be returned, but we'll help you arrange a repair with the manufacturer. After 30 days, call the manufacturer's support line below. If you get stuck, we'll help.

Just got your product?

Register it with the manufacturer. Some brands add extra warranty time when you register, and registering makes future claims faster.

How your warranty works

  • The manufacturer backs your warranty. They set the terms, approve claims, and pay for covered repairs. Mighty Generators does not administer or fund manufacturer warranties, but we're here to help you through the process.
  • Keep your proof of purchase. Manufacturers ask for proof of the purchase date. Keep your Mighty Generators receipt or invoice. If you need a copy, we'll resend it.
  • Register your product. Some brands add extra coverage only when you register. Registration links are listed below.
  • Home standby generators need professional installation. A licensed electrician (and a licensed gas professional for fuel hookups) must install your standby unit to code. Keep your maintenance records. Skipping either can affect coverage.
  • Commercial use often has shorter coverage. Many brands cover commercial or rental use for less time than home use, or not at all.
  • Buy from an authorized seller. Several manufacturers exclude products bought from unauthorized sellers or online auction sites. Keep your Mighty Generators receipt.
  • Medical and life-support use. Manufacturers may exclude or not address this use. Check your manual and ask the manufacturer before relying on any product to power medical equipment.
  • Batteries need regular charging. Some battery brands require you to charge the unit soon after purchase and every few months to keep battery coverage. Check your manual.

How to make a claim

  1. Find your model and serial number (on the unit's label) and your order confirmation.
  2. Contact the manufacturer using the details below. Have photos or a short video of the problem ready.
  3. Follow their steps. Many brands issue a return authorization (RMA) number before you ship anything.

Home Standby Generators

Cummins
  • Air-cooled home standby (RS13A, RS17A, RS20A): 5-year or 2,000-hour limited warranty, whichever comes first. Parts, labor and travel are covered in years 0 to 2; parts only in years 3 to 5.
  • Liquid-cooled standby (RS25 and larger): 2-year limited warranty.
  • RA automatic transfer switches: 2-year warranty.
  • Extended coverage up to 10 years is available.
  • The Cummins warranty statement supplied with your generator governs.

Briggs & Stratton
  • PowerProtect+ home standby (18kW, 22kW, 26kW): 7-year limited warranty covering parts, labor and travel.
  • 13kW PowerProtect: 7-year comprehensive warranty covering parts, labor and service.
  • Fortress liquid-cooled (30kW, 48kW, 60kW): 6-year limited warranty covering parts, labor and travel. The 35kW model has a 5-year limited warranty covering parts, labor and travel.
  • Warranty repairs must be done by an authorized Briggs & Stratton dealer or installer.

Portable & Inverter Generators

Pulsar
  • 3-year or 500-hour limited warranty for personal use, whichever comes first. Some models carry 1 or 2 years, so check your model's page. See the warranty sheet in your product's packaging for details.
  • Proof of purchase and maintenance records are required for warranty service.
  • Commercial use, rental use and use as a primary power source in place of utility power have reduced coverage or none. Check your warranty sheet.
  • Products bought from online auction sites are not covered.

  • Register within 30 days of purchase. The extension applies only to new units bought from Pecron's channel. Accessories, chargers, carts and solar panels are excluded.

  • Rigid solar panels: 25-year power output and 10-year workmanship warranty.
  • Portable solar panels: 25-year power output and 5-year workmanship warranty.
  • ALPHA batteries: 5 years. ALPHA PRO batteries: 10 years.
  • Inverters: 2 to 5 years depending on type. Charge controllers: 1 to 2 years.
  • Some multi-year terms are prorated: full replacement in year 1 (years 1 to 3 on 10-year terms), then a declining share.
  • Batteries must be fully charged within 7 days of purchase and at least every 6 months to keep coverage.

  • Return authorization is required before shipping anything back to Wagan.
