The Cummins RS13AE delivers 13kW of reliable backup power designed specifically for extreme weather conditions. This home standby generator operates in temperatures down to -40°F without additional cold weather kits, making it ideal for harsh climate installations.
Powered by the QSJ999G naturally aspirated V-twin engine with overhead valve design, this generator provides consistent power output while maintaining whisper-quiet operation at just 65 dB(A). The aluminum enclosure with galvanized steel interior is engineered to withstand wind loads up to 180 mph per ASCE7-10 standards.
With 26 kVA motor starting capability at 30% voltage dip, the RS13AE easily starts and runs a 5-ton air conditioning unit under full pre-load. Voltage regulation maintains ±1.25% from no load to full load, with isochronous frequency regulation ensuring stable power for sensitive electronics.
Built-in remote monitoring allows you to check generator status, adjust exercise modes, and manually run the unit from any computer, tablet, or smartphone. The intelligent load management system controls up to 4 loads simultaneously, continuously monitoring power requirements and optimizing generator capacity.
The patented "crank only" exercise mode cranks the engine and runs diagnostics without starting, reducing wear, fuel consumption, and noise during routine maintenance cycles. Exercise schedules are fully customizable for time, date, and frequency.
Field-selectable single fuel operation accommodates natural gas or propane vapor (factory set to natural gas). The generator meets UL 2200, CSA 22.2, B149.1, EPA emissions standards, and NFPA 37 compliance allowing installation just 18 inches from buildings.
This generator requires a compatible Cummins Onan RA Series automatic transfer switch (sold separately), a Group 51R 450 CCA battery, and a generator pad for proper installation. Fuel supply pressure requirements: Natural Gas 3.5-12.0 in H2O, LP 6.0-12.0 in H2O.

Robust Design
The generator is designed to operate in cold weather with performance down to -40 °F out of the box since it is the extreme cold weather model. It is tested and certified per the latest EPA, UL, and CSA standards. The generator meets NFPA 37 which allows it to be installed 18 inches from a building. It has powerful motor starting ability and can easily start and run a 5-ton A/C¹ under full pre-load.

Intelligent Load Management
The generator can control up to 4 loads and continuously monitors how much
power is required independently for each load. It then controls each load for maximum utilization of generator power by only restoring loads the generator has capacity to run.
Flexible Exercise Modes
Exercise modes can be set for time, date, and frequency that suits the owner. Our patented 'Crank only' exercise mode allows the generator to crank the engine and run diagnostics without starting the engine. This reduces wear and tear on the engine, fuel costs, and further reduces the sound of an already quiet generator.
Remote Monitoring
Remote monitoring is built into every generator. Using a computer, tablet, or smart
phone, an operator can monitor, change exercise modes, and manually run the generator remotely.
