The Cummins A061C601 RS20A delivers 20kW of reliable backup power for your entire home. This standby generator connects to your natural gas or propane supply and automatically activates during power outages through 24/7 monitoring of utility lines. When paired with a Cummins Onan Automatic Transfer Switch (sold separately), it provides seamless power restoration.
Engine and Power Output
Powered by the QSJ999G naturally aspirated, air-cooled V-twin engine with overhead valve design. The 60.96 cubic inch (999 CC) displacement engine operates at 3600 rpm, delivering consistent 60 Hz, single-phase power with less than 5% total harmonic distortion. The alternator features long-life electrographic DC brushes and slip ring heater for extended service life.
Dual Fuel Capability
Field-selectable between natural gas and propane vapor fuel sources (factory set to natural gas). Operates within fuel supply pressure ranges of 3.5-12.0 inches H2O for natural gas and 6.0-12.0 inches H2O for LP. This flexibility allows installation based on your existing fuel infrastructure.
Quiet Operation and Durable Construction
Sound level measures just 65 dB(A) during operation. The aluminum exterior enclosure with galvanized steel interior is engineered to withstand 180 mph wind loads per ASCE7-10 standards. Designed for cold weather performance down to 0°F (-18°C) out of the box. NFPA 37 compliant for installation 18 inches from building structures.
Remote Monitoring and Control
Built-in remote monitoring capability allows you to check generator status, adjust exercise modes, and manually run the unit from any computer, smartphone, or tablet. Under-hood built-in display provides direct access to system information. The patented "crank only" exercise mode runs diagnostics without starting the engine, reducing fuel consumption and wear.
Intelligent Load Management
Controls up to 4 loads with continuous monitoring of power requirements for each circuit. The system automatically manages load restoration based on available generator capacity, maximizing power utilization during outages.
